ISB is a collaborative learning community that inspires, equips and empowers its students to succeed and contribute positively to society.
The PYP is designed for students between the ages of 3 and 12 years. It is an inquiry-based transdisciplinary programme that focusses on the whole child - touching hearts as well as minds, and incudes the social, physical, emotional and cultural welfare of our students as well as their academic needs.
The written, taught and learnt curriculum at ISB during the MYP years is a demanding, student centered, engaging, and balanced international curriculum, which incorporates all the attributes of the IB learner profile (which are personal characteristics identified by the IB to help students develop the attributes associated with success throughout their IB education and as lifelong learners). The school years from grades 6 – 10 are full of change, growth, and transitions, which is all the more reason for highlighting the importance of a balanced approach to their education.
The Diploma Programme is the culmination of an ISB education. It builds directly on the holistic approach of the Primary and Middle Years Programmes. To become successful candidates for the full IB Diploma, recognized and valued by competitive universities worldwide, students must take six courses, 3 at the Higher Level and 3 at the Standard Level. DP courses are offered in all six subject areas and take two years to complete. In May of their senior year, ISB students sit for external examinations for the IB.
